The Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group conducted a passing and communication exercise with the Turkish Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, March 16-17, 2021.
The Turkish Armed Forces conducted joint training in the Eastern Mediterranean with US naval elements. In his post on the Twitter account of the Ministry of National Defense,
“We continue our joint training and close cooperation with our allies in the Eastern Mediterranean. The frigate TCG GEMLİK has been conducting multiple passing exercises in the Eastern Mediterranean together with the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER Aircraft Carrier Strike Group.”
made statements. The transition exercise with the Turkish Navy’s Gabya-class TCG Gemlik (F-492) frigate was based on partnership capabilities using NATO operational and tactical procedures.

Blue Homeland-2021 Exercise
Turkey continues training and exercises in the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea. The Blue Homeland-2021 Exercise was conducted between 25 February-07 March 2021 in the Islands (Aegean) Sea and the Mediterranean. During the exercise, the readiness status of the headquarters, troops and ships attached to the command of the Navy was evaluated. In addition, basic types of operations at Task Group level were also tested as a result of the exercise.

A total of 87 ships, 27 aircraft and 20 helicopters from the Naval Forces Command, Land Forces Command, Gendarmerie General Command, Air Forces Command and Coast Guard Command took part in the exercise.
