Integration studies for SAKA UAV developed by ASELSAN were completed and flight tests were carried out successfully.
For the first time in our country, ASELSAN launched the SAKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) weighing less than 500 grams, which includes a unique, domestic and national communication modem, flight controller and image processing unit hardware, software and algorithms. At this stage, integration studies for the aircraft weighing less than 500 grams, which includes the original aircraft platform, propulsion system and flight controller hardware, software and algorithms, have been completed and flight tests have been carried out successfully.
ASELSAN, which has the ability to design and manufacture avionics systems, continues its efforts to nationalize subsystems by using this advantage and aims to reduce foreign dependency and verify product capabilities with lighter and smaller platforms by nationalizing the image processing unit together with the original flight controller.
It will be possible to increase the operational efficiency of the TAF within the context of reconnaissance and surveillance activities with domestic and national SAKA UAVs, which have the infrastructure that can be adapted to the herd concept.
SAKA’s minimum 25-minute flight time, 2 km communication range, customizable software infrastructure and domestic, national and secure communication system are planned to outperform foreign-origin products. It is indicated that the serial production of SAKA UAVs will be worked with DASAL Aviation Technologies, ASELSAN’s subsidiary in the field of multi-rotor UAVs.
ASELSAN General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk GÖRGÜN made a statement,
“ASELSAN has actualized the SAKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) weighing less than 500 grams, which contains a unique, domestic and national communication modem, flight controller and image processing unit hardware, software and algorithms for the first time in our country. It will be possible to increase the operational efficiency of the TAF within the context of reconnaissance and surveillance activities with domestic and national SAKA UAVs, which have the infrastructure that can also be adapted to the herd concept.”

SERÇE-3 UAV flew at the Army Aviation Command
In April 2021, “The Life of Mehmetçik Empowered with Domestic and National Technology Exhibition” was held at the Army Aviation Command. In order for Mehmetçik to perform his duties successfully in all weather and terrain conditions, Turkish Defence Industry, Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation and the Ministry of National Defence produced domestic and national living spaces, safety and convenience facilities, clothing, protective clothing, weapons, equipment and food materials were introduced to the public opinion.
Among the systems introduced at the exhibition was the SERÇE-3 Multi-Rotor Unmanned Flying System developed by ASELSAN, which stands out with its high payload carrying capacity, wind resistance and fully autonomous use. During the presentation, the flight of SERÇE-3 was also carried out.
