Ukrainian-based Ukroboronprom and Ukrspetsexport companies sent a committee to Turkey.
On July 16th – 17th 2020, a committee for Ukrainian defense industry companies Ukroboronprom and Ukrspetsexport visited Turkey.
Run by Ukroboronprom Chairman Aivaras Abromavicius, the committee included members such as Marketing and Sales Department Vice-Chairman Mykhailo Morozov and Ukrspetsexport Director Vadim Nozdre held first Ukraine – Turkey joint Black Sea Shield meetings as representatives. Black Sea Shield joint initiative was established in 2019 by Ukrainian state company Ukrspetsexport and Baykar Defense.

The parties held talks over the joint administration of Black Sea Shield, planning new projects during the COVID-19 pandemic, production and delivery of Bayraktar drones for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and extending the co-operation between Ukroboronprom and other member companies.
“Co-operation is constantly developing”
Ukrainian committee visited Teknopark in Istanbul for the latest developments. Ukroboronprom chairman Aivaras Abromvicius said, “The Republic of Turkey, by tradition, is an important ally in military and technical fields and promises a bright future. In 2019 and the first half of 2020, the total amount of exports have reached 40 million US$. In armament, we’re developing our co-operation and constantly on the look for new opportunities in the Turkish market. Right now our joint initiative with Turkey is working on integrating Ukrainian aircraft engines into new generation Turkish drones such as Akıncı which are highly promising. Last year, built on request of a third party country, the first Ukrainian – Turkish anti-tank missile system Serdar’s tests have been completed. It is ready for mass production.”
