The Skyeye 5000mm, which is claimed to have been used in the attack, is also considered to have been used in the kamikaze UAV attack on a Russian petroleum refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, according to the information given by The Drive on 22 June 2022. A similar path is possible to have been followed in the attack on Russia’s Black Sea Fleet base. Having 20 to 45 kilograms of useful load capacity, Skyeye 5000 can be regarded as a new long-range kamikaze UAV alternative in terms of its explosive load potential and affordable price.

Having declared a great deterrence by deploying the most advanced air defense systems since the annexation of Crimea, the situation in which Russain army is against these attacks raises great question marks. Even though Russia has electronic warfare systems such as S-400, S-350, Tor, Buk and Pantsir air defence systems with Krashuka-4, the continuation of their attacks on Crimea raises questions about both the systems and the Russian Army.
Ukraine continues to engage the Russian facilities and bases in the area near the border with long-range attacks. Russian ammunition depots and various strategic facilities in Crimea have also been the scene of various attacks in the previous weeks. In addition to that, Russia had lost multiplexed planes in the attack on Saki which is on the west of Crimea and hosts the Russian Naval Air Base.
