Produced by Turkish Aerospace Industry engineers and technicians AKSUNGUR, has so far exceeded 1000 hours in the field.
Developed with domestic and national facilities of AKSUNGUR UAV continues to break duty record. AKSUNGUR was developed in a short period of 18 months, inspired by the ANKA platform. ANKA-AKSUNGUR is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) class UAV System, capable to perform day and night Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and strike missions with EO/IR, SAR and SIGINT payloads, and a variety of air to ground weapons.
AKSUNGUR made its first flight in 2019. Platform Verification ground/flight tests, 3 different EO/IR cameras, 2 different SATCOM, 500 lb class Teber 81/82 and KGK82 Systems and the domestic engine PD170 system were integrated. In addition to all these works, AKSUNGUR started its first field mission in the second quarter of 2021. AKSUNGUR’s flight time in the field has reached 1000 hours.
AKSUNGUR will hit the target from 55 km with KGK-SIHA-82
By the KGK-SIHA-82, specially developed by TUBITAK SAGE over the KGK-82 for UAV, targets with a range of 55 km will be able to be hit with high accuracy. The total weight of two transportable KGK-SİHA-82 munitions from AKSUNGUR UAV is 700 kg. KGK-SIHA-82 has precision strike capability with built-in INS/GPS.
In April 2021, AKSUNGUR UCAV successfully hit the target at a range of 30 km with the 340 kg KGK-SIHA-82, which is scored for the first time. Regarding SSB İsmail Demir,
“We continue our path with determination. Our UAVs are getting stronger with new ammunition test shots. AKSUNGUR UAVs successfully hit the target at a range of 340 km with the KGK-UAV-82(Wing Assisted Guidance Kit) weighing 340 kg, which it scored for the first time. “

AKSUNGUR UAV will fly with domestic TEI-PD-170 engine
In the 11th issue of the Technopark R&D and Technology Magazine Target, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of TEI Prof. Dr Important details were included in the interview with Mahmut F. Akşit.
Akşit, on the question about the TEI-PD170 engine,
… We successfully begin our Tei-PD170 engine, which we started working on in 2013, on January 30, 2017. After integration work was completed by TAI, the TEI-PD170 engine successfully made its first flight with ANKA in December 2018. TEI-PD170 engine has also performed successful test flights in other months.
As of December 2019, the first batch of 13 engines was mass-produced. We continue mass production and deliveries.
…Integration of TEI-PD170 into the AKSUNGUR platform is also about to be completed by TAI. Flights are expected to begin with AKSUNGUR in the coming weeks. A total of 23 more engines are planned to be delivered to TAI in 2021 for the ANKA and AKSUNGUR platforms. Three engines were also delivered to Baykar for integration and ground testing on Baykar platforms. The locality rate of the TEI-PD170 engine is 95 percent. The TEI-PD222 engine, on the other hand, continues to be developed to meet the power needs of MALE class unmanned aerial vehicles with its 222 horsepower take-off power.”
