Turkish defense minister Hulusi Akar said, “We will continue to stand by Azerbaijani Armed Forces and support Azerbaijani brothers against the aggression of Armenia”
A weekly video conference headed by Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, was held with the participation of Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Ümit Dündar, Commander of the Turkish Air Forces General Hasan Küçükakyüz, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces Admiral Adnan Özbay and Deputy Ministers.
With regards to the conflicts along the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, Hulusi Akar stated:
“We strongly condemn the attack of Armenia in Tovuz in Azerbaijan. We wish God’s mercy upon those who fell martyr and got wounded a quick recovery. We extend the people of Azerbaijan our condolences. We will continue to stand by Azerbaijani Armed Forces and support our Azerbaijani brothers that we consider ‘one nation, two states’ with every means available against Armenia that deforces Nagorno Karabakh and exhibits aggressive attitude.”
Cavusoglu: “Come to your sense Armenia, we stand by Azerbaijan with every means available”
Armenian army broke cease fre and attacked Azerbaijan posts with artillery fire in Tovruz across Azerbaijan-Armenia border. The first statement concerning the issue was announced as an official text via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On July 13, in a television programme, Mevlut Cavusoglu underlined that Azerbaijan was not alone and Turkey would stand by Azerbaijan with every means available.
“Armenia heinously attacked”
Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu stated, “Armenia heinously attacked and our 4 brothers became martyred. In this situation, we see that Armenia wants to create new conflict zones. Armenia haven’t come up with a political solution so far.”
“What Armenia did is not acceptable. Come to your senses Armenia. Azerbaijan is not alone and we are with Azerbaijan with every means avaiIable. Today I will have a telephone conversation with my Azerbaijani counterpart and assess the situation.”
