Thanks to the Range Correction Kit developed by Roketsan, atillery, howitzer and mortar systems, especially the 155 mm Fırtına Howitzers, will gain more precise strike capability, and our artillery’s striking ability will be strengthened!
The Range Correction Kit, as its name signifies, is a guidance kit that provides range correction. This product, which is in the form of a fuze, will be mounted on various ammunition, primarily 155 mm cannon shots. Although the kit does not increase the detonation effect of the ammunition, it ensures that the point where the ammunition falls is approaching the target point in range.

The Range Correction Kit solution can be used in operational use, in residential districts and in areas where close contact with the enemy is provided, with the high precision strike capability it provides. Being a kit that provides guidance capability to conventional, that is, unguided artillery shots, it will ensure that the shots of Turkish artillery fall towards the target. The falling of the shots towards the target; in case of a residential district and a close-contact war, it means not putting our own troops or civilians in danger.
While artillery systems are used by the Land Forces Command as an important fire support tool in both domestic and international operations, artillery shots are used in high numbers. A development and mass production contract was signed between Presidency of Defense Industries and ROKETSAN for the design and production of a guidance kit with domestic resources to reinforce its high use with high precision strike capability. It can be said that since it turns an unguided shot into a guided one using only a different fuze, it carries the product to a forward point. Fırtına Howitzer will be adapted to fire guided artillery shots after this product.

As previously reflected to the public opinion, ASELSAN was working on directing the ammunition to the target precisely by correcting the flank and/or distance in order to increase the strike sensitivity of the artillery and mortar ammunition.
With the national first speed measurement radar developed in this context, the first speed measurement of ammunition is performed. The development work of the Range Correction Kit, which allows the fins integrated with the plug to open at the specified time by using the deviation value at the initial speed, and corrects the distance through the resulting air brake, continued. In addition to mortar ammunition, Range Correction Kit could also be used with 105/155 mm artillery ammunition, which is in large numbers in the inventory. The project was transferred from ASELSAN to ROKETSAN and it is now entrusted to ROKETSAN engineers.
