BNS BIJOY belonging to Bangladesh Navy was damaged in the explosion in Lebanon and repaired in Turkey.
In the post shared on Twitter by the Ministry of National Defence, it is stated: “BNS BIJOY belonging to the Bangladesh Navy, which was damaged in the explosion in Beirut, was docked in Aksaz, maintained and repaired. And after being made ready for the operation, it left Aksaz to continue its mission of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. (UNIFIL).”

BNS BIJOY, which belongs to the Bangladesh Navy, was damaged during the explosion in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on Tuesday, August 4th. The ship, which was damaged to the level it is not able to navigate, was brought to Turkey, being backed up by TCG İNEBOLU belonging to Turkish Navy. In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defence on August 27 2020, it was announced that the repair activities of the ship would be carried out by the Turkish Naval Forces. In the statament made by the Ministry, it was stated: “BNS BIJOY, belonging to the friend and brother Bangladesh Navy, which was damaged in the explosion in Beirut, has been started to pass on to Turkey, being backed up by TCG İnebolu. The necessary repairments of BNS BIJOY will be made within the facilities of the Turkish Navy.”
