In Turkey’s biggest foreign military training center, the Somali Turkish Task Force Command Base, the future commanders and upper echelons of the Somali Army are trained. The base is located in Somali’s capital, Mogadishu. The base was first established in September 2017, with the aim of educating and training the Somali Army’s commanders in the field to serve as the command center for the inter-governmental peacekeeping organization “African Eagle”. This base serves as the biggest Turkish military establishment on foreign soil.
