TEI introduced the TEI-TF10000 turbofan engine with afterburner as part of the 9th Innovation Week event. Being developed on the TF6000 turbofan engine, the TF10000 will be able to give 10000 lbf thrust owing to the afterburner.
TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Faruk Akşit made the following statements on the potential roadmap for the TF6000:
“The TF6000 is currently able to fly KIZILELMA, if its core turns to the turboshaft, it can fly ATAK 2, if the ship’s propeller is attached, it can be used on the national assault boat. There is cooperation with BOTAŞ for its use as a natural gas compressor.”
He also referred to the TF10000 engine, the afterburner configuration. The TF6000 has similar thrust values with the AI-322F turbofan engine, which is one of the engines planned to be used in Bayraktar KIZILELMA MIUS.
The use of a turbofan engine with afterburner can be considered as an important issue for KIZILELMA, which is planned to have aggressive flight characteristics and low stall speed, as well as short-range take-off capability that requires high thrust/weight ratio. For this reason, TF10000 will be suitable for use in KIZILELMA rather than the TF6000, which is the main configuration, due to its afterburner.
