Somalia soldiers who completed their basic training at the Somali Turkish Armed Force Command, Turkey’s largest military training center abroad, performed an oath ceremony.
According to the statement made on the official Twitter account of the Ministry of National Defense, the oath ceremony of the 8th Somali Infantry Battalion, which received basic training in Somalia Turkish Armed Force Command, which is the largest military training center abroad, was performed. It was also stated in the statement that the mentioned oath ceremony was performed on May 16, 2021 at the Anatolian Barracks (Mogadishu / Somalia).
Somalia Turkish Armed Force Command is a military training base located in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. The base was opened in September 2017. It serves as the main center of the intergovernmental armed force called the “Afrika Kartalı” where Turkey tries to train and prepare the officers and NCOs of the Somali Armed Forces. This base also serves as Turkey’s largest overseas military facility.

On 25 July 2020, it was reported that 71 officers and 88 non-commissioned officers who completed their training at the Somali Turkish Task Force Command, Turkey’s largest military training center abroad, were graduated.
The farewell ceremony of the 5th Infantry Battalion, which will be sent to Isparta to receive a complementary commando training for 6 weeks following the graduation ceremony of the students of the Military School and Petty Officer School, whose training was completed by the Somali Turkish Task Force Command, at the Anatolian Barracks (Mogadishu / Somalia) had been executed.
The ceremony in which 71 officers and 88 petty officers graduated; Somali Parliament Speaker, Turkish Republic Ambassador to Mogadishu, Somalia Defense Minister, Somali Chief of General Staff, Turkish Armed Forces Representative, Somali Turkish Armed Force Commander and Turkish Institutions Representatives in Somalia attended.
