Considered to be one of the most prestigious defense industry companies list, Defence News Top 100 list features seven Turkish companies for the first time.
Leading Turkish defense industry companies join the list of leading defense industry companies list each year. Some companies that were previously on the list even show advancement on the charts.
ASELSAN, which was already featured in Defence Top 100 list has jumped 4 ranks and become 48th in the list. This has exhibited the accomplishments of ASELSAN’s goals of being placed in the top 50. ASELSAN, despite the negative impact of COVID-19 on global scale, was one of the companies least affected by the outbreak and was one of the 4 companies that had the least impact in category of public companies.
On the list, TAI held a place starting from the previous year, and this year has jumped 16 ranks to be placed on the 53rd place. TAI, with these recent advancements, has come closer to its goal of entering the top 50.
Some previous listings on the Top 100 are still present, such as BMC falling 4 ranks to be placed on 89th, Roketsan falling 2 ranks to be placed 91st and STM falling 7 ranks to be placed on 92nd.
Seven Turkish companies together on the list for the first time
Previously 5 companies shared the entitlement to top 100. The current list features 7 Turkish companies following two new companies entering the list. FNSS Defense Systems Inc. has joined the Top 100 from 98th. The other company that joined the Top 100 this year was HAVELSAN, on 99th.
With these developments, Turkey currently has seven companies on the list of Top 100 internationally recognized defense industry companies.
