Serial production of the national smart ammunition BOZOK will commence in 2021.
The serial production of BOZOK Laser-Guided Miniature Ammunition, developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE and with its first firing test made by BAYRAKTAR TB2 UAV in 2018, will begin in 2021. The development of mass production is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2021.
While the diversity of UAV ammunition has increased, cost-effective solutions are developed in this field at the same time. BOZOK, which has a lighter structure than the MAM-L more effective warhead, started the qualification process this year.
The armor-piercing warhead can be added with the improvements to be made with BOZOK, which will be able to carry 6 or 8 units with the appropriate release. Vehicles such as Akıncı and Aksungur and ammunition such as Mk-82, HGK and Miniature Bomb can also be used for armed vehicles.
BOZOK
BOZOK provides effective defense without jeopardizing friendly elements in asymmetric warfare by giving attack capability to unmanned air vehicles. Due to the lightweight and compact design, it brings operational conformability in unmanned aerial vehicles for which weight is critical. BOZOK with its novel design stands out among rivals by the help of robust operational capabilities.
BOZOK exploits inertial measurement unit for tactical inertial guidance for midcourse. During terminal course, precision guidance is achieved by the semi active laser seeker. At the end of the terminal phase, BOZOK presents large scale anti-personnel effect relying on proximity sensors and optimized target effectiveness.
