At the IDEX 2023 fair held in the UAE, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between ROKETSAN and the Tawazun Council, which is responsible for the UAE’s defense supplies, regarding the development of new munitions. High-speed and low-visibility ammunition was emphasized at the signing ceremony. Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, Head of Tawazun Defense and Security Industry Sector, said:
“Our partnership with ROKETSAN is an important indicator of Tawazun Council’s determination to establish successful and serious partnerships. In partnership with Tawazun and ROKETSAN, high-tech systems will be developed for the needs of the future.”
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat Ikinci stated that innovative and field-proven solutions would be developed within the scope of the partnership and added that IDEX 2023, which offers opportunities for new partnerships, will increase the defense industry cooperation between Turkey and the UAE.

Rabdan ZMA delivery to UAE completed
Deliveries of Rabdan 8×8 ZMAs developed by OTOKAR for the UAE were completed in 2021. According to the information obtained by Defence Turk during the IDEX – NAVDEX 2023 Exhibition held between February 20-24, 2023, 400 vehicles were delivered.
Al Jasoor, founded by Otokar (49%) and Tawazun (51%), signed a contract with the United Arab Emirates for the supply of Rabdan 8×8 Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) worth 661 million dollars at IDEX 2017. Rabdan 8×8 is an amphibious Armored Fighting Vehicle developed by Otokar over the Arma 8×8 vehicle, and which can integrate the BMP-3 AFV turret and the Mızrak-30 turret.
