RBS 70 NG low-altitude air defense missile of Sweden origin has been integrated into the MARS 4×4 tactical wheeled armored vehicle developed by the Czech Republic.
As part of the cooperation between the Swedish company SAAB and the Czech Republic SVOS company, the MSHORAD mobile low-altitude air defense system, consisting of the MARS 4×4 tactical wheeled armored vehicle developed by SVOS and the RBS 70 NG low-altitude air missile integrated into it, was developed.
MSHORAD’s vehicle-based Mobile Firing Unit (MFU) and Mobile Radar Unit (MRU), based on the RBS 70 NG missile and the Giraffe 1X multi-purpose 3D radar system, will be presented to the user with 1 Saab command-control system (C2) and MSHORAD air defense system. As reported by Army Recognition, many tests are planned with the MARS vehicle using the RBS 70 NG, including “precision shooting” tests carried out in Sweden. The MARS armored vehicle will take place for the first time at the Eurosatory Fair in Paris in June 2022.
MARS 4×4 Armored Vehicle
The MARS 4×4 tactical wheeled armored vehicle, developed by the Czech Republic, will be able to serve in harmony with the existing systems of NATO allies. While there is currently a 4×4 version of MARS with a weight of 14 tons, it is aimed to produce a 6×6 version with a weight of 20 tons in the future. Detailed technical information of the vehicle and information on various models are planned to be introduced at the Eurosatory Fair to be held in Paris in June 2022.
