Integration studies for SAKA-1 UAV system developed by ASELSAN were completed and flight tests were accomplished.
ASELSAN has launched the SAKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) weighing less than 500 grams, which contains a unique, domestic and national communication modem, flight controller and image processing unit hardware, software and algorithms for the first time in our country. At this stage, integration studies for the aerial vehicle weighing less than 500 grams, which includes the original aerial vehicle platform, propulsion system and flight controller hardware, software and algorithms, have been completed and flight tests have been carried out successfully.

Another mini UAV system ASELSAN is working on is SAKA-2. SAKA-2 UAV, whose development activities are carried out in parallel with the SAKA-1 UAV system, has a weight of 950 gr. The SAKA-2, which will be larger in size compared to the SAKA-1, will also be used by special units. The SAKA-2 UAV will have a domestic 3D imaging system and the SAKA-1 UAV system will also have a domestic solution imaging system. The SAKA UAV system will have the ability to move with image reference and will be able to return in case of loss of connection. SAKA UAV systems will be able to remain operational for a long time in the field thanks to their replaceable battery systems.

ASELSAN will complete its work on SAKA UAV systems in May 2022 and bring it to the attention of users.
ASELSAN presented its smart Nano Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Nano-UAV), which it has been working on for a while, for the first time at TEKNOFEST’19. The presented system was later named SAKA UAV family. SAKA Nano-UAV, which can perform indoor and outdoor missions for reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence purposes, will significantly increase the operational capabilities of special units.

SAKA-1 UAV System
It will be possible to increase the operational efficiency of the TAF within the context of reconnaissance and surveillance activities with domestic and national SAKA-1 UAVs, which have the infrastructure that can be adapted to the herd concept.
SAKA-1 UAV is planned to provide superiority to similar products of foreign origin with a minimum flight time of 25 minutes, a communication range of 2 km, a software infrastructure that can be customized according to needs, and a domestic, national and secure communication system. It is indicated that ASELSAN and DASAL Aviation Technologies (ASELSAN’s subsidiary in the field of multi-rotor UAVs) will collaborate for the mass production of SAKA UAVs.
ASELSAN General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk GÖRGÜN made a statement about SAKA UAV,
“ASELSAN has actualized the SAKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) weighing less than 500 grams, which contains a unique, domestic and national communication modem, flight controller and image processing unit hardware, software and algorithms for the first time in our country. It will be possible to increase the operational efficiency of the TAF within the context of reconnaissance and surveillance activities with domestic and national SAKA UAVs, which have the infrastructure that can also be adapted to the herd concept.”
