National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar official visited to London at the invitation of British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar held bilateral talks with British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace on 7-9 April 2021. Within the scope of the meeting, mutual information and views were exchanged on many bilateral and regional issues, especially developments in NATO, Afghanistan, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

The details of the meeting are specified.
During the meetings, by the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar;
- It was stated that the United Kingdom took some steps to prevent the activities of the terrorist organization PKK, but more is expected,
- It was emphasized that the United Kingdom is one of the countries where the Daesh terrorist organization is still active and that it is necessary to provide support to our country and take concrete steps in the fight against Daesh,
- We have been reminded that we have close cooperation with the UK and the Turkish Armed Forces on various weapon systems, tools, equipment and spare parts, and that removing some restrictions will contribute more to this cooperation.
In addition, Hulusi Akar, together with his counterpart Ben Wallace, visited the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, which was anchored at Portsmouth Naval Base. Ben Wallace and Hulusi Akar also attended a roundtable with representatives from the British defence industry aboard the aircraft carrier.
