MILDAR is a fire control radar, operating in Ka-band to support fire control capability and navigational aid for the attack helicopters.
MILDAR combines its high performance with Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) feature. It scans, detects, locates, and classifies multiple moving targets in all weather conditions. MILDAR, which is developed as a Fire Control Radar, is characterized with its small size, weight, and low power consumption (SWAP) property and qualified on T129 Attack Helicopter in the Turkish Army and will be fielded with the same helicopter. MILDAR will also manage weapon engagement for the RF guided missiles on T129.
Targeting
MILDAR rapidly detects the ground/air targets and automatically tracks them. With its 360° angular scanning span, it provides pilots with enhancing situational awareness and also increases the attack helicopters’ survivability and offensive power with weapon engagement for multiple targets in the battlefield.
Terrain Profiling
Pilots have substantial difficulties in maintaining flight safety during the flights in low visibility and low altitude conditions. MILDAR facilitates the pilots in these conditions with terrain profiling for the area over which the helicopter will navigate. In terrain profiling mode, MILDAR creates a terrain profile including the terrain topology and natural/artificial obstacles over the terrain. MILDAR’s terrain profiling feature gives a significant contribution to the pilot’s situational awareness during the low altitude flights.
