A memorandum of understanding was signed between the British Government and the UN-backed Government of National National Accord (GNA) according to a statement made by the Twitter account of the British Embassy in Libya.
“The #UK is pleased to have signed an MoU with the GNA to support #Libya’s decentralisation process and strengthen sub-national governance. ” tweeted the British Embassy.
The Embassy stated the ‘Tazeez’ project would contribute to better and more responsive government services.

UK’s support for the GNA
Some local sources report thay in April, the British government confirmed its support for the internationally-recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) in Libya. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, announced that he stood by the legitimate government in Libya and supported its efforts for a ceasefire in Libya.
Libya and British Foreign Ministers, in a phone call, discussed the latest developments in the field of war in Libya as well as addressing the issue of poor humanitarian and economic conditions Libyans faced Libyan and sustaining ceasefire.
