The Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and Nigeria was signed during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Nigeria. The agreement was signed by the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Geoffery Onyeama.
In a statement made by İsmail Demir, President of PDI, he said:
“During our visit to Nigeria, we signed a Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and Nigeria. Under the determined leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we plan to implement these agreements in a short time.”
The agreement includes the direct supply, development, production, sale of all kinds of defence industry products and services that are needed by the security organizations of the parties, maintenance and modernization of the systems and platforms in the inventory, technology transfer, training, information and document exchange.
The “Defence Industry Cooperation Meetings” to be held at regular intervals and the official and technical delegation visits that ensure the maturation and follow-up of the cooperation issues determined in these meetings will also be carried out within the scope of this agreement.
Agreement with Equatorial Guinea
Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and Equatorial Guinea was signed at IDEF 15th International Defense Industry Fair. The signatures were signed by the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir and the Minister of Defense of Equatorial Guinea Victoriano Nsue OKOMO.
The agreement covers the principles of mutual cooperation activities to be carried out in the field of defence industry between the two countries by institutionalizing the cooperation between Turkey and Equatorial Guinea.
