TUBITAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute tested KÂŞİF Global Positioning System receiver in the field.
Continuing researches under “National R&D for National Defense”, TUBITAK Defence Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE), serves Turkish Armed Forces with crucial projects developed in the field of defence industry.
TUBITAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute tested KÂŞİF Global Positioning System Receiver, which was initiated to meet the needs for navigation applications requiring precision guidance, in the military field.
Developed by TÜBITAK SAGE through national means, KAŞİF is a sensitive GPS receiver available for the dynamic military platforms that requre high speed and high altitude. RF, digital and analog electronic hardware, mechanical, software and algorithm designs of the system were completed by TÜBİTAK SAGE.
With KÂŞİF, it was aimed to remove the foreign dependency on the GPS receiver in the Turkish Defense Industry and to create the necessary laboratory and human resources for the development of advanced technologies that will make a difference in this field.
Specifications
The receiver has a front-end which supports the usage of GPS L1/L2, GLONASS L1 and GALILEO E1/E5a/E5b signals. The up-to-date firmware and FPGA produces navigation solution only with GPS L1 signals’ tracking.
The navigation solution is produced with different combinations of GNSS signals such as, GPS L1 + GLONASS L1 + SBAS, GPSL1+GPS L2+SBAS and GPS L1 + GALILEO E1.
The Kaşif receiver developed by TÜBITAK SAGE is the first and only indigeonus and national GPS receiver, integrated into guidance kits, whose high sensitivity has been confirmed in the field with the firing test conducted in Konya Karapinar on July 10, 2020.
