The third prototype of the AKINCI Offensive UAV, which was developed domestic and national by Baykar Defense, is preparing for the first flight.
Baykar Defense Technical Director Selcuk Bayraktar made a post on his official Twitter account in January 2021. Bayraktar stated that the final preparations have been completed before the first flight of the third prototype of AKINCI UAVS with the aforementioned sharing. Selçuk Bayraktar shared, “#AKINCI PT-3… The last selfie at home before flying out of the nest.” He signalled that AKINCI UAVS’s third prototype will go to Çorlu for the first flight.
On March 16, 2021, Selcuk Bayraktar shared the Telegram channel,
“AKINCI PT-3 is in its first run … It will run, fly, rise above the clouds and not be afraid of anything that his eyes see like his ancestors.”
He shared AKINCI UAVS’s photo with his note. As can be seen from the photo, the 3rd prototype of the Bayraktar AKINCI offensive UAV is counting the days for its first flight at the Corlu Air Square Base Command in Tekirdag, where test activities are carried out.
Mass Production AKINCI UAVS
In the video that Selçuk Bayraktar shared in January 2021, while walking inside the BAYKAR facilities, the AKINCI Offensive UAV platform, which entered the mass production process, is among the vehicles reflected in the camera. In addition to the AKINCI UAVS, which will enter the inventory in 2021, 3 prototypes of the Flying Car Cezeri, 2 prototypes of the new generation Bayraktar VTOL and Bayraktar TB2 UAS systems appear in the video.
61+ Different Tests
In the statement made by Vice President Fuat Oktay at the The Grand National Assembly of Turkey Plan and Budget Committee on November 27, 2020, it was stated that AKINCI UAVS has reached the final stage in the test activities for serial production. In a post made by Baykar Defense on December 6, 2020, it was stated that AKINCI UAVS successfully completed 61 different tests in about a year since its first flight.
