ASELSAN General Manager Haluk Görgün said, “We do not need S300 and S400 air defense systems”.
ASELSAN General Manager Haluk Görgün made a statement to Milliyet Newspaper writer Abdullah Karakuş. Visiting ASELSAN’s facilities in Gölbaşı, Karakuş stated that air defense systems are mainly produced in their new 70,000 square meter facility.
In this context, Görgün said, “We make air defense systems. We don’t need either S300 or S400. We take the need for them away. This is our duty.” Görgün also stated that the SİPER air defense system is not a missile launch event with a single vehicle, and used the following statements:
“There is a communication station and a search radar. This radar is constantly working to see if there is a missile coming towards you. There is also a control center. There is a fire control unit and a center. It has a missile launch system. It has identification of friend or foe. There are only 12-13 trucks in this system. So there is a big system.”
Export to 38 different countries
ASELSAN has over 700 products exporting to 82 countries. In this context, Görgün announced that contracts were signed with 38 different countries just within the previous year and the turnover was 415 million dollars. Görgün explains that 50 different products are exported and that ASELSAN’s 2022 turnover was 35.3 billion liras.
ASELSAN ended the year with record growth
ASELSAN’s financial results for 2022 were announced. Accordingly, ASELSAN’s annual turnover increased by 75% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 35.3 billion TL. ASELSAN continued its sustainable and strong growth this year as well.
While the gross profit of the company increased by 77% compared to the same period of the previous year; Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Taxes (EBITDA) increased by 72% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 9.5 billion TL. With an EBITDA margin of 27%, ASELSAN’s net profit increased by 67% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached TL 11.9 billion. The company’s equity to assets ratio was 52%.
