The days of defense technology, Istanbul Technical University, speaking at the club performed by 2021 event, head of the Department of Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems Ahmet Akyol, “as shown in the operation carried out in Turkey in recent times on this issue (Electronic Warfare) very serious breakthroughs, has made serious advances.”
Akyol stated that Electronic Warfare (EH) the Turkish Armed Forces could use these technologies very well. Stating that the network-based electronic warfare concept is one of the basic policies, Akyol stated that they are working for the development of the IHASOJ (Unmanned Aerial Vecihle Stand off Jammer) concept.
The full statement of Ahmet Akyol, Head of Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems Department,
“Taking shortcuts from multiple points for precise positioning in Electronic Support systems are increasing the sensitivity. Especially with the advantage of not being affected by some reflections on land, the positioning precision of air systems and ground systems gives much better results. We’ve personally seen the consequences of this in past operations. Currently, it is among our basic policies that all electronic warfare systems can work together in the concept of Network-supported warfare. Important for precise positioning. In addition, after positioning, goal sharing can be done. The ground systems have a little more power possibilities. After taking a sensitive position with the support of air systems, sharing that target with the ground systems and attacking those radars can give effective results. As Turkey, we are one of the leading countries in the world in UAV technology and we continue to develop. We started work to add the IHASOJ concept alongside the KARASOJ (LAND SOJ) and HAVASOJ (AIR SOJ) concept in the coming period. I hope that new technological tools will be provided to our Turkish Armed Forces in the coming periods.”
Last week the Defense Turk published in the “Internet’s Weapons Network Centric Warfare, Command and Control” and warfare in the field of land and integrated air systems form for use in the future of Turkey in Syria at work explaining Electronic Warfare was working in a similar integrated command and control system was underlined that developed .
The ANKA-I’s signal intelligence (SIGINT) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), delivered the Turkish National Intelligence Agency (Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı – MİT), Turkey has taken an important step towards electronic warfare capabilities in the UAV. With the use of UAVs as SOJ (Stand-Off Jammer), UAVs can be used to create weaknesses in the detection, diagnosis and tracking capability of the target country early warning and air defense radar systems in the operation area.
Network-Supported Electronic Warfare
The Electronic Warfare Command, Control and coordination system project carried out by Aselsan is critical for network-supported Electronic Warfare(EW) capability.
Electronic Warfare Command, Control and coordination system provides more effective use of electronic warfare systems in coordination.
The system meets the need for quicker and more accurate evaluation, decision-making and command in electronic warfare and intelligence in the battlefield, which changes rapidly depending on the developing technology.
